Socks

I just completed my first pair of knitted socks! For those who don't knit, socks look pretty small and unimpressive but I've just learned how much go into them. They were a lot of fun though and I'll be doing more for sure. I made these as part of class I took through the Yarn Garden of Portland taught by Judy Wilcox.

Wow, a great job. It reminds me of socks knitted by my girlfriend Leslie, in the 50's. They are charcoal grey, with three interlocking diamonds on the side. The center diamond is angora, and the diamonds on top and bottom are pink. This was the rage at a simpler time. AND I STILL HAVE THEM!

Great Socks, Dave. I know nothing about knitting, but on our trip I watched Mom working on a scarf while waiting for plane flights. I also got a very good explanation and demonstration of weaving. Textiles (knitting, weaving, embrodery) look like a great craft.

I like your photograph of the socks as well, the background color is particularly good for showing off the color of the socks in contrast.
